NCH Springtime Concert, 5th May 2001

NCH Concert

Held in Romsey's Crossfield Hall, this joint concert with the Romsey Male Voice Choir and ourselves was a new event for the band. Organised by local NCH Action For Children members and compered by Mr James Montgomery, the evening proved very enjoyable for both performers and audience alike. It also proved worthwhile for the charity themselves, as a good sum of money was raised throughout the course of the evening.

The band opened the concert with the march Castell Coch, then proceeded to play a selection of light music, that included the trombone solo "Leaning On a Lamp-post", played by Andy Verner. The choir took over to complete the first half and, indeed, open the second. Our final spot opened with the Florentine March, featured Steve Dawkins and Ted Read (cornets) soloing on Chanson d'Amour and concluded the evening with the ever-popular Hootenanny.

Thanks to Ted Howard for returning to conduct the band and to the guest players that filled a few vacant seats.
